AI stocks pushed higher in premarket trading on Monday as investors positioned themselves ahead of Wednesday’s consumer price inflation report. The data could influence whether the Federal Reserve continues to hold interest rates at current levels.
Super Micro Computer added 3% before the opening bell. The AI server maker is set to report its fourth-quarter earnings on Thursday.

Other AI-linked names also moved higher. Lumentum rose 3.7%, Coherent gained 2.4%, Applied Materials climbed 2.4%, and Corning advanced 1.8%. Dell, Intel, and Marvell were also among the risers.
Apple Dips on China Chip Report
Apple dropped 1% after the Wall Street Journal reported the company is testing memory chips from China’s ChangXin Memory Technologies. The report cited people familiar with the matter. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Berkshire Hathaway edged up 0.4% after reporting its Q2 results on Saturday. After-tax operating earnings rose 16% from a year ago to $13 billion, though much of the gain was driven by one-time currency swings rather than core business performance.
Critical Minerals Jump on White House Investment Announcement
Standard Lithium surged 13% after the White House announced more than $2 billion in new mining and mining-related investments. The package also included over $180 million for mining schools and workforce development.
Other critical mineral stocks followed. 5E Advanced Materials jumped 30%, MP Materials rose 3%, Energy Fuels gained 2%, and United States Antimony added 2%.
Sunrise Energy Metals closed 16% higher after the Trump administration awarded a $400 million loan to the Australian company. It is working to mine scandium, a rare element used to strengthen aluminum.
RadNet shares rose 5% after the diagnostic imaging company beat Wall Street expectations for Q2. Revenue jumped 25% year over year to a record $622.7 million, and the company raised its full-year revenue outlook to between $2.37 billion and $2.42 billion.
Robinhood shares gained 2% after the trading app launched crypto trading in the UK. Eligible customers can now access more than 50 digital assets with zero trading fees and no custody or account maintenance charges.
On the downside, Niu Technologies fell 10% despite a 14.7% rise in Q2 revenue. Gross margin dropped to 16% from 20.1% a year earlier, and the adjusted net loss widened.
Kennametal dropped 3% after Morgan Stanley downgraded the stock to Underweight. The analyst cited peak earnings expectations in the current quarter and potential downside as the benefit from rising tungsten prices fades.
Stock futures were mixed as traders also weighed ongoing shipping uncertainties in the Strait of Hormuz.
