Firefly Aerospace Q2 Revenue Reaches Record $117.7 Million
Firefly Aerospace reported second-quarter revenue of $117.7 million for the period ending June 30, 2026. Revenue increased 45.5% from the previous quarter and crossed the $100 million quarterly mark for the first time. The result reflected stronger activity across launch vehicles, spacecraft, lunar services and defense technology programs.
The company secured more than six contracts during the quarter as demand increased across several space programs. Firefly also expanded production capacity through a new headquarters and additional spacecraft cleanroom facilities. The expansion added workstations supporting Alpha and Eclipse manufacturing and created the Gloworks research facility.
Firefly also strengthened its financial position through an underwritten public offering during the quarter. The offering generated $181.6 million in net proceeds to support business expansion and recently awarded contracts. Consequently, the company gained additional funding to increase spacecraft production and execute its growing contract backlog.
NASA Contracts Expand Firefly Lunar and Mars Programs
NASA awarded Firefly a $144 million Commercial Lunar Payload Services contract for another Blue Ghost Moon mission. The contract increased Firefly’s contracted lunar missions to six and expanded the company’s role in lunar exploration. Firefly also progressed Blue Ghost missions targeting the Gruithuisen Domes and the lunar south pole.
NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory also awarded Firefly a $75 million subcontract supporting the MoonFall mission. Firefly will use an Elytra spacecraft to transport four drones toward the Moon’s south pole. NASA currently targets the mission for launch no earlier than 2028 under its broader lunar development plans.
Firefly also entered the Mars exploration market through a $13 million NASA JPL subcontract. The company will manufacture and test the aeroshell for NASA’s SkyFall mission through its Gloworks facility. The program targets a late 2028 launch and adds Mars work to Firefly’s growing exploration portfolio.
Defense Deals and Technology Expansion Support FLY Stock Rally
Firefly continued expanding its defense business through SciTec and several new U.S. government contracts. SciTec secured a $94 million Space Force contract supporting modernization of legacy ground-based radar systems. The company also received a $5.5 million Air Force option for its cloud-based command and control work.
Firefly strengthened its technology platform by acquiring Space-ng and adding autonomous navigation capabilities. The company also partnered with NVIDIA to support rapid data processing for its Ocula lunar imaging service. These technologies will support Firefly’s Blue Ghost landers and Elytra vehicles across future commercial and government missions.
Firefly expanded its launch pipeline through agreements covering Alpha rockets and future launch locations. Lockheed Martin extended its multi-launch agreement for up to 25 Alpha missions through 2031. Firefly expects full-year 2026 revenue between $420 million and $450 million as contracted programs move forward.
