DoubleZero is built on Solana, one of the major layer-1 blockchains. Its product, DoubleZeroEdge, works as a transport layer that sends live exchange and onchain data over dedicated fiber to all connected traders at the same time.
In traditional finance, institutions have long used specialized private networks to access data at high speed. In crypto markets, most traders still rely on standard internet connections. DoubleZero is trying to close that gap.
“This is the same distribution model that has underpinned traditional financial exchanges, from NYSE to Nasdaq to the CME, for decades,” the DoubleZero Foundation said in a statement on Wednesday.
What Traders Get Access To
Kalshi is now the first prediction market to distribute its real-time order book data covering sports and crypto perpetual futures contracts through a dedicated data feed.
Crypto perpetual futures are derivatives that let traders speculate on an asset’s price without an expiration date. These are among Kalshi’s most actively traded contracts.
Traders who access the feed get a machine-readable view of Kalshi’s order book. This removes the need to build that infrastructure themselves from order books and API responses.
Austin Federa, co-founder of DoubleZero, said data access is a “critical part” of market structure, but that the related infrastructure has been missing from newer financial areas like crypto and prediction markets.
The two companies announced the launch on Wednesday, with access available to new DoubleZero Edge subscribers.
Kalshi’s Trading Volume Breakdown
According to data from Dune, exotics rank first on Kalshi with 39.4% of weekly notional trading volume. Sports is second at 37.8%, and crypto sits third at 20.3%.
Kalshi and Polymarket are the two largest prediction markets globally. In early July, OpenAI began displaying Kalshi’s prediction market odds for FIFA World Cup matches in ChatGPT search results.
Prediction markets like Kalshi assign probability scores to events like interest rate decisions and inflation data. These events can move prices within milliseconds, which is why fast data access matters to institutional traders.
Kalshi is also facing regulatory pressure. Multiple US states, including Michigan, Kentucky and Nevada, have challenged its sports event contracts, arguing they constitute unlicensed sports betting. The CFTC has pushed back, asserting federal jurisdiction over these contracts.
The CFTC has sued several states to defend its position, and the legal dispute remains ongoing.
