Comparable-club sales increased 11.9% year over year, driven in part by strong gasoline sales. Excluding gas, comps were up 3.1%, above the 2.6% analysts had expected.

Membership fee income grew 9.9% to $135.6 million. The company said the gain came from stronger membership acquisition, retention, and higher-tier membership penetration across both new and existing clubs.
Member count hit a record 8.5 million during the quarter. That kind of loyalty is hard to fake.
Strong Profitability Across the Board
Operating income rose 16.5% to $252.4 million. Net income climbed 15.4% to $173.9 million, up from $150.7 million a year ago. EPS on a reported basis came in at $1.36, up from $1.14 a year prior.
CEO Bob Eddy said the company’s value proposition continues to resonate with members. “The momentum we’re seeing across our strategic priorities gives us real confidence in the road ahead,” he said.
CFO Laura Felice added: “We delivered solid profitability, grew membership fee income, and outperformed on gas — all of which enabled us to raise our full year adjusted EPS guidance.”
Guidance Gets a Lift
BJ’s raised its full-year adjusted EPS guidance to $4.60-$4.80, up from its prior range of $4.40-$4.60. The midpoint of $4.70 sits above the current analyst consensus of $4.53.
The company kept its comparable-club sales guidance, excluding gasoline, at 2% to 3% growth year over year. Analysts had been expecting 2.5% growth.
During the quarter, BJ’s opened three new clubs and one gas station. It also repurchased 1.4 million stock units for $124.1 million.
The company’s fiscal year ends January 30, 2027.
