TLDR
- XRP rose 4% to $1.31 on Wednesday.
- A security upgrade on the XRP Ledger went live.
- Wallets holding 1 million or more XRP reached 2,147, a 2026 high.
- Whale net outflows from exchanges climbed to 696 million XRP.
- Resistance sits at $1.32 to $1.34, with support near $1.23.
XRP rose 4% to $1.31 on Wednesday. The gain followed the activation of a security upgrade on the XRP Ledger. Whale wallet counts also reached a yearly high.

The upgrade was described as critical for the network. It went live as buyers returned to the market. XRP had traded near $1.25 earlier in the week.
The wider market gave XRP some help. Bitcoin held above $78,000 after a hack at Binance pushed it to a six-week low near $76,000. XRP followed that rebound higher.
US midterm results also came in during the day. Reports said the Democratic Party won the Senate and was on track to gain control of Congress. Risk appetite improved across crypto as the results arrived.
Whale Wallets Reach a 2026 High
According to XRP Update, 2,147 wallets now hold at least 1 million XRP. That is the highest count of 2026. Twenty-eight of those wallets appeared in the past 10 days.

Eighteen of them were created in the last three days. The pace of new large wallets has picked up. Many of them showed up after the Binance hack.
Wallet counts do not always mean new buying. Coins can move between wallets, or from wallets to exchanges, and still change the tally. Exchange balances and transaction history help show what holders are doing.
CryptoQuant data shows whales pulling coins off exchanges. Cumulative whale net outflows reached 696 million XRP on Wednesday, up from 399 million XRP on October 28. That is a 74.5% rise in seven days.

Coins that leave exchanges are less available for quick selling on spot markets. That can ease short-term selling pressure. It does not confirm a lasting trend by itself.
The XRP Whale vs Retail Spread on Binance reached 98.4% on Tuesday. That is its highest level since October 15, 2024. Across all centralized exchanges, the reading was 65.1%.
Trader Jesse Olson pointed to a short-term chart signal. He said XRP had a buy signal on the 12-hour timeframe. He added that price found support at a key target area he calls “sniper,” and he asked whether the daily chart would show a signal next.

Price Levels to Watch
XRP now sits just above the middle Bollinger Band near $1.30. It remains below the 100-day exponential moving average at $1.32. The 50-day and 200-day averages sit at $1.34 and $1.37.
Earlier readings showed the Relative Strength Index near 46. The MACD had turned slightly positive. Those figures pointed to improving but still limited upside momentum.
A daily close above $1.34 would open a path to the upper Bollinger Band at $1.36. The 200-day average at $1.37 comes next. The SuperTrend line near $1.40 is the stronger barrier.
On the downside, the lower Bollinger Band near $1.23 is the next support zone. A wider support range runs from $1.20 to $1.25. A break below it could bring more selling.
Analyst EGRAG CRYPTO shared a longer-term view. He set targets of $8, $13 and $30 for XRP, based on the 33-month and 77-month moving averages. He named $1.65 as the key breakout level and said a monthly close above it would improve the odds of a bigger move.
XRP was trading near $1.31 on Wednesday, up 4% on the day, with Bitcoin above $78,000.
