TLDR
- U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $517.19 million in net inflows, the strongest daily total since May 4.
- BlackRock’s IBIT led the inflows with $284.7 million, followed by ARKB with $77.7 million and FBTC with $62.4 million.
- The inflows came as Bitcoin climbed above $69,000, while Ether reclaimed the $2,000 level during a broad crypto market rally.
- Analysts linked the renewed demand to improved liquidity expectations, Treasury buyback plans, and fresh SEC crypto proposals.
- Market analysts said the flows appeared to reflect institutional positioning rather than short-term retail trading, though similar inflow levels may not continue daily.
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $517.19 million in net inflows on Wednesday as bitcoin and the wider crypto market moved higher. The inflows marked the strongest daily total since May 4, according to SoSoValue data.
Eight of the 12 funds attracted fresh capital. BlackRock’s IBIT led with $284.7 million, while Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB added $77.7 million. Fidelity’s FBTC followed with $62.4 million in net inflows.
Bitcoin ETFs See Strong Institutional Demand
The fresh Bitcoin ETFs inflows came as Bitcoin moved above $69,000 for the first time in two months. Ether also climbed above $2,000 as traders responded to new policy developments in the United States.
BTC Markets analyst Rachael Lucas said the inflows reflected renewed positioning by larger investors rather than short-term retail trading. She said the recent flow pattern suggests institutions are again adding exposure when market conditions improve.
Lucas noted that Bitcoin ETFs had faced heavy outflows during May and June, followed by uneven activity in July and mid-August. Wednesday’s total showed that larger investors still have the capacity to absorb market supply.
Treasury Buybacks Support Crypto Recovery
The U.S. Treasury said on Wednesday that it plans to at least double liquidity support buybacks for longer-dated nominal coupon securities. The program covers securities across the 10-year to 30-year segment.
BTSE Chief Operating Officer Jeff Mei linked the Bitcoin ETF inflows to the Treasury announcement. He said easier liquidity conditions can weaken the dollar, improve risk appetite, and support demand for bitcoin and other digital assets.
Mei added that future flows may depend on inflation data and whether the Treasury continues the larger buyback program. Investors are also watching upcoming CPI data and comments from Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
SEC Proposal Adds to Market Momentum
The crypto rally also followed a new SEC proposal for certain crypto investment contracts. The plan would create two exemptions that could allow issuers to raise to $5 million over four years or $75 million each year.
Bitcoin traded near $69,564 after gaining 8.3% in 24 hours. Ether rose nearly 18% to $2,251, while XRP and Solana gained about 10%.
Hyperliquid’s HYPE also climbed after President Donald Trump said regulators were working toward a compliant U.S. path for the trading platform. The wider crypto market rose about 8%.
