Firefly Aerospace (FLY) has locked in two Alpha rocket launches from Sweden, signing a multi-launch agreement with SSC Space for missions from Esrange Space Center in northern Sweden.
FLY stock was trading down 0.59% at the time of the announcement.
The launches are targeted for no earlier than 2028. They will serve Swedish national security customers as well as commercial rideshare customers.

Under the deal, SSC Space secured the full payload capacity for both missions. It can then allocate that payload space to its own government and commercial customers.
The agreement follows the completion of key infrastructure at Esrange Space Center. That includes a launch control center, payload processing facility, launch vehicle integration building, tracking and control systems, and security and storage facilities.
Final pad construction at Launch Complex 3C is still ongoing. Both companies are working through that phase now.

Firefly CEO Jason Kim said the contract “validates the demand from European customers for long-awaited orbital launch capabilities directly from mainland Europe.”
Charlotta Sund, CEO and Group President of SSC Space, said the deal “underscores the strategic value of the transatlantic space capabilities we are building together with Firefly.”
The partnership builds on the earlier establishment of transatlantic regulatory frameworks needed to launch Alpha from European soil.

SSC Space operates Esrange Space Center in northern Sweden and runs a commercial ground station network for satellite communications. It has roughly 750 employees and operates across all continents.
Firefly Aerospace was founded in 2017. Its engineering, manufacturing, and test facilities are based in central Texas.
The Alpha rocket is Firefly’s small-to-medium orbital launch vehicle. Launching from mainland Europe adds a new geographic option for customers who need access to specific orbital paths.
This agreement positions Esrange as a potential hub for European orbital launches, something the continent has been working toward for years.
The two missions are set to carry a mix of government and commercial payloads, with SSC Space handling payload allocation on both flights.
