Arista Networks stock opened at $193.54 on Friday, giving the company a market cap of $244.10 billion. The stock has climbed 37.3% over the past six months, well ahead of the Internet software industry’s 7.8% gain over the same period.
The run higher comes on the back of strong fundamentals. In Q2 2026, Arista posted earnings per share of $1.02, beating the analyst consensus of $0.89 by $0.13. Revenue hit $3.04 billion, topping the $2.83 billion forecast and marking a 37.7% increase from the same quarter last year.
For Q3 2026, management has guided for EPS of $1.06 to $1.08. Analysts on average expect full-year EPS of $3.70.
The company’s AI networking business is expanding fast. Arista’s AI fabrics customer base has grown from just four or five customers in 2024 to more than 100 cumulative customers. Management expects AI revenues to reach at least $3.6 billion in 2026.
To support that growth, Arista launched the 7060XE7 switch, which offers 100-terabit capacity and 1.6-terabit throughput. Management expects 1.6T products to enter customer trials in the second half of 2026, with production ramping in 2027.
S&P 100 Addition
Arista will be added to the S&P 100 index effective prior to the open on September 21, 2026, as part of the quarterly rebalance. Dell Technologies, Palo Alto Networks, and Sandisk are also joining the index, while Honeywell Aerospace, Nike, Simon Property Group, and Colgate-Palmolive are being removed.
Institutional interest has picked up alongside the stock’s move. Nilsine Partners increased its position by 521.6% during Q2, while Norges Bank, Jupiter Topco, and Alyeska Investment Group all initiated new positions. Institutional investors now hold 82.47% of ANET stock.
Analyst Views and Insider Activity
Analyst sentiment remains broadly positive. TD Cowen raised its price target from $210 to $250 following the Q2 report. Jefferies set a $250 target. Deutsche Bank started coverage with a Buy rating and a $220 target. The consensus stands at “Buy” with an average price target of $225.76.
One area worth watching is insider selling. Over the past 90 days, insiders sold $726.7 million worth of stock. CEO Jayshree Ullal sold 13,809 shares in late August at an average price of $191.79, reducing her position by 58.2%. CFO Chantelle Breithaupt sold 612 shares on September 1 at $195.77. On the supply chain front, Arista has secured memory supply for 2026 and expanded its supplier network. Operating cash flow for the first half of 2026 came in at $2.78 billion, up from $1.84 billion in the same period of 2025. Cash and equivalents stood at $2.3 billion as of June 30, with marketable securities totaling $11.1 billion.
The stock trades at a price-to-sales ratio of 16.62 and a P/E of 61.05, well above industry averages.
