TLDR
- Wallets tied to Trump Media sent 4,259 bitcoin, worth about $342 million, to Crypto.com.
- The amount nearly matches the 4,260.73 bitcoin pledged as collateral for its convertible notes.
- Noteholders can demand repayment on Nov. 30, which could cost the company about $1 billion.
- Past transfers to Crypto.com were described by the company as custody moves, not sales.
- Trump Media has not commented, and a transfer alone does not prove a sale.
Wallets linked to Trump Media & Technology Group, the parent company of Truth Social, moved a large amount of bitcoin to Crypto.com on Thursday. Blockchain trackers Arkham and Lookonchain flagged the transfer.
Is Trump Media dumping $BTC?

The coins left in two batches at 02:17 UTC. One batch held 2,140.03 bitcoin and the other held 2,119.31 bitcoin, for a total of about 4,259 bitcoin. Arkham labeled the sending addresses “2028 Convertible Notes Collateral.”
How the Transfer Compares to the Pledged Collateral
Trump Media’s second-quarter filing said 4,260.73 bitcoin was pledged to secure its convertible notes as of June 30. The loan terms restrict withdrawals or distributions of those coins. The terms bar withdrawal until certain conditions are met, or until May 2028 at the latest.
The moved amount is only about 1.5 bitcoin short of that pledged total. Arkham now shows just over 1 bitcoin left in the labeled wallets. Arkham’s labels match the collateral arrangement, but the data does not explain why the coins were moved.
The reported dollar value differs by source. Arkham data put the transfer at roughly $342 million, and Lookonchain valued it at $343.67 million. Bitcoin was trading near $80,481 at the time of the CoinDesk report.
The transfer equals about 30% of the roughly 14,139 bitcoin Trump Media said it held on July 31, including pledged coins. That figure comes from an older disclosure. It does not prove the company’s holdings have changed.
The company also reported 9,477 bitcoin at June 30. That bitcoin had a cost basis of $1.01 billion and a fair value of $557 million. Arkham tags may also miss some wallets.
The Nov. 30 Repayment Option
A Nov. 2 securities filing said holders of the convertible notes can require repayment in cash on Nov. 30. If all holders use that right, Trump Media could owe roughly $1 billion.
The filing warned that the company may have to sell bitcoin or other digital assets if refinancing and other steps fall short. Cash and short-term investments totaled about $425 million at June 30.
The notes can convert to shares at about $34.72 each. Trump Media stock closed at a record low of $4.49 on Wednesday. At that price, conversion looks far off for noteholders.
Moving coins to an exchange does not always mean a sale. Analysts on X pointed out that the move could be a custody change. EyeOnChain wrote that a transfer to an exchange or custodian does not automatically mean the bitcoin is being sold.
Trump Media has made similar moves before. In May 2026, wallets linked to the company sent about 2,650 bitcoin, worth roughly $205 million, to Crypto.com. A company spokesperson told CoinDesk at the time that the coins were transferred but not sold, as part of its broader trading strategy.
In early August 2026, another 2,628 bitcoin, worth about $165 million, went to the same platform. The company said that move was for custody management and was not a sale. Crypto.com has been one of the firm’s custody partners since it launched its bitcoin treasury strategy. Lookonchain also described Crypto.com as one of two custodians.
CoinDesk contacted Trump Media for comment on the latest transfer and its bitcoin holdings. The company had not responded at the time of publication.
Trump Media’s next quarterly filing is expected to show its bitcoin holdings after the transfer. Noteholders have until Nov. 30 to decide whether to demand cash repayment.
