TLDR
- OKX launched QNT perpetual futures with up to 50x leverage on Oct. 1, settling in USDT every four hours.
- QNT trades near $249, down 16% in 24 hours but still up 178% over the past seven days.
- The Clearing House picked Quant to power its tokenized deposit settlement network, with bank access expected in the first half of 2027.
- Seven UK banks completed live tokenized sterling deposit transactions using Quant’s infrastructure in September.
- A wallet linked to Quant CEO Gilbert Verdian moved 25,776 QNT, worth about $6.97 million, after seven years of inactivity.
Quant has been one of the most talked-about tokens in crypto over the past two weeks. The token’s price moved from under $100 to above $300 before pulling back.

That rally caught the attention of OKX. The exchange launched QNT perpetual futures contracts on Oct. 1, letting traders use leverage of up to 50x.
The new contract settles in USDT and uses the QUANT/USDT index as its price reference. Funding fees normally settle every four hours, though that window can shorten to one hour during extreme funding conditions.
OKX did not link the listing to QNT’s price performance. The exchange also did not give any price targets for the token.
What’s Driving the Rally
The price move started after The Clearing House announced on Sept. 24 that Quant would power its On-Chain Money Initiative. This network is built to clear and settle tokenized commercial bank deposits.
NEW: 🚨 The Clearing House, owned by 25 major US banks, selected Quant to power its On-Chain Money Initiative for tokenized bank deposits, helping send $QNT up ~250% over the past 7 days

Quant will supply the interoperability and transaction-management layer. The system will connect to existing payment rails like RTP and CHIPS, which together clear more than $2 trillion a day according to The Clearing House.
Banks taking part in the network are expected to get access in the first half of 2027. No specific launch participants have been named yet.
Before the U.S. deal, Quant had already built infrastructure used in the UK. UK Finance confirmed on Sept. 24 that seven banks, including Barclays, HSBC UK, Lloyds, Monzo, Nationwide, NatWest, and Santander, completed live transactions using tokenized sterling deposits.
Those transactions covered person-to-person payments and remortgage cases. UK Finance said the tokenized deposits remain commercial bank money under existing rules.
Price Action and a Dormant Wallet
QNT climbed from around $90 on Sept. 24 to an intraday high near $357 on Sept. 30. That’s a seven-day gain of more than 400% from the lows.
The token has since cooled. CoinGecko data puts QNT near $248.86, down 16.1% in a day but still up 177.8% over the week.
Trading volume sits around $451 million, down 41% from the prior day but still well above pre-rally levels. The 24-hour range runs between about $242 and $305.
QNT’s market cap is near $3.62 billion, ranking it 34th among tracked cryptocurrencies. About 15 million QNT are in circulation.
Analyst Crypto Patel flagged the move on X, warning followers that QNT had tapped a resistance zone from its 2021 all-time high. He pointed to a short zone between $330 and $430, with downside targets of $200, then $130, and potentially below $100 if momentum fades. Patel said he wasn’t buying at current levels, calling the risk-to-reward unfavorable near the highs.

Separately, a wallet tied to Quant founder and CEO Gilbert Verdian moved 25,776 QNT, worth roughly $6.97 million, after sitting inactive for seven years. The tokens went to a newly created wallet rather than a known exchange address.
The original wallet still holds about 600,000 QNT, worth roughly $160.39 million. The transfer alone does not confirm the tokens were sold.
Quant has also partnered with Murex on capital-markets infrastructure and with Dentsu Soken in Japan on tokenized deposits. The company presented its tokenized deposit work at Sibos in Miami this week.
